Just can’t swallow that pill. Have wondered what the chances would increase to if I went to an LLC like Spirit/JB with 2000 135 TPIC. Any thoughts on that or just hang on until the wave really kicks in?
The wave is here. And it's better to be on the front side than the backside.

Meanwhile, more 121 SIC time at Spirit/JB is probably less valuable than any PIC (91/135/121). Either go big and get 121 PIC or stay put.

FWIW, left CRJ left seat to E190 right seat at JB. Hired at UAL within a year

In short, I am JetBlue A320 First Officer with 8500 TT and 2000 TPIC. According to a new system bid at JetBlue I should be able to upgrade to E190 Captain but I am a bit worried that this could put me at disadvantage when it comes to getting the interview at United.

According to some of my United friends, it seems that United doesn't like high time Captains and I am worried about building more TPIC than I already have. Is this something that people on this board share a consensus with?
Your numbers are way more than competitive right now. If you are not getting a call, I would take the time and have your app reviewed. There may be a small but significant error (i.e. an expired divers license or passport, medical etc.) that is keeping the computer from pulling your app. It is well worth the money. Good luck!

Good advice. Also, do whatever possible to get a Chief Pilot meet and greet. That seems to have a big impact.

I had the app reviewed twice and I had the meet and greet a few months back. I am not exactly sure what United is looking for but I keep trying to make myself more competitive. I think that part of the problem is the fact that I am one of many thousands pilots that got stuck at regionals for almost a decade. Most of my time was in the right seat of an RJ. By the time I upgraded I missed the boat and United started hiring through CPP. I left XJT a month before the United CPP was announced and here I am at Jetblue over 3 years later.

Hang in there Rascal. It’ll come. Hopefully soon.

with time like that, focus on networking. In my opinion, networking is what gets your app pulled. and pay someone to review your app.
