Default Weekends off

Anyone have a wag for the average line holder percentage for weekends off? For reserve?

All weekends or just some weekends? I've noticed that most reserve bidders that hold all weekends off could easily hold lines. In EWR the reserves with weekends off range from 73-88%. I looked through the line holders and the first few folks that were holding every weekend off without a vacation or other special day off was around 40% in category or about 80% in system seniority (10500ish of 125XX). Most line holders were getting at least some weekends off much more junior.

It all depends on your base...people from early 2019 are at 65% in SFO on the airbus or at 96% on the 737 in EWR. New hires that were on the 757 were at 75% in May and now bid at 90% in June.

I initially misread your question...FlewNavy probably explained it better.

To consistently hold all weekends off with commutable trips, you have to be around 20-25% (4 years on property) in EWR on the Airbus and that will still most likely get you redeyes to finish the trip. The trips, overall, are very poor in that base on that fleet.

Weekends off in the bases on the east and west coast will come much quicker than in something like DEN or IAH. They’re senior and stagnant. I’d rather live where I do and deal with slower progression than be senior and miserable on my days off somewhere else. It’s great to have a choice.

Thanks. I was holding most weekends off in EWR @84%. After mil leave in a few months the dilemma is EWR @55% or ORD at 90%. ORD is 2.5 hours drive without traffic, but reserve is....well reserve. Commuting to EWR wasn't bad but LGA was a different story. I dont know what it's like to drive instead of commute but think with the worst circumstances driving is always better. The unknown for me is the difference between lineholding and what 50% would get while commuting vice reserve in base.

If you’re at 50%, you can pretty successfully avoid LGA.

I’m 50 percent ewr 320 , all weekends off for the last 5ish months ... def not all commute friendly ,,, trips that are both end commute friendly are pretty much min 5 pay ... garbage and aren’t efficient . I love the bus but man the trips are booty
