Ok.
Out of curiosity what are you doing now? (I only ask because I would presume an employee working within Flt Ops would not necessarily be seeking this info online.)
You have several advantages and disadvantages as a current employee.
For starters, you will need to be reasonably competitive with your education, flight experience, and currency.
https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...eer/pilot.html
- This means a four year degree is very strongly preferred
- This means you will need to not only have a FAA ATP license, but significant flight experience
- This means that you will also have recent flight currency
If you meet that general criteria, great. But be forewarned, the first question in the interview will be, "If you have all these qualifications and want to fly, why have you been working as a __________?"
If not, you need a plan of attack to become qualified and competitive before even contemplating attempting to use your internal status.

I'm an Aircraft Line Technician. I've only started my pursuit of becoming a United Pilot in 2017, so I've just completed ATP mins and joined ExpressJet to build my turbine time. I realized that the four year degree is a must, so I enrolled back into school and should have that completed by years end. Do you currently work for United? And if so can PM if you have anymore advice or know of anyone who's been down this road.
Thanks

dramcobb9033. Never give up, if this is what you really want. It can get frustrating working within the confines of a big corporation, but if you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it work. But don’t limit yourself to just UAL when you’re qualified.
