Allegedly, Boeing is also considering using the 767/777 windscreens again for the 797.

Of course. Because God forbid they try to create anything new.

Poor Joe. Hopefully he can get a seat on the beloved, yet weight restricted "73". Funny how a "75" winter arrival always makes it to the gate under it's own power.

Why?

Modern aircraft are fly by wire. The 777/ 787 yokes do not connect to anything other then themselves and the fly by wire system.

The latest Gulfstreams have active sidesticks..

SYMMETRY FLIGHT DECK

While the cabin features the latest in Gulfstream interior design and manufacturing, what sets the G500/G600 apart from other Gulfstreams, even the G650, is the Symmetry flight deck. There is much more to it than just replacing the G650’s yoke controls and traditional avionics with active-control sidesticks (ACS) and touchscreens, and engineers spent an enormous amount of time on human factors design and testing. The sidesticks (also known as active inceptor systems) are electronically interconnected and move in concert, and they are designed by BAE Systems and also the first commercial application of ACS. Other aircraft that incorporate the BAE ACS are military designs such as the F-35 Lightning II, UH-60Mu Black Hawk, T-50 Golden Eagle, and CH-53K Super Stallion.

What is the status of the Hawaiian B 767 300's that we supposedly bought and were getting retrofitted?

They come online this year replacing 3 757-200s that we are retiring. One is in HKG getting Polaris seats added and the other two are in or on their way to VCV to be painted.

Any idea of routes.

My take is the 757 200 is a great transcon jet and great at getting in and out of high density altitude airports.

The 767 300 seems great at longer 10-11 hour flights to S. America.

Those ex Hawaiian birds are being configured in a 46bf/24pe/99y high business class configuration for High premium European routes and possibly transcons. The three Hawaiian 767’s plus 14 non Polaris two class 767’s will be getting this configuration.

The 757 and 737 may have the same tube diameter, but what makes the guppy have a little less room across the tube is that the sidewall on the guppy is damn near vertical and is more curved on the 757...

The airbi have a little larger tube than both but, the point is moot anymore as they are all being retrofitted with those low rider slim line seats anyway.
