I heard it was 2000 121 PIC to be seriously looked at--- for your run of the mill, white guy with a 4yr degree and clean record. This at AA and DAL atleast. To make it to tier 1 atleast .

Pardon my ignorance- does race actually matter? Or is that tongue in cheek

I honestly don’t think anyone can answer that accurately. I’ve seen normal regional FOs with ZERO TPIC get offers from UAL/DAL. For most of us, it still seems like at least 1,000 TPIC is necessary. I got called by two legacies at around 1200 TPIC/6000 total. I was just a regular line pilot.

What’s the value of 135 TPIC? I flew at the regionals, no upgrade in sight and moved to a very large 135 operator flying 6-700 hrs per year, upgraded and hit my 1000 TPIC shortly after. Personally I don’t see why 121 TPIC is so coveted. The flying we do hands down requires much more difficult and methodical decision making than I ever saw one of my 121 captains ever have to make. In addition I have to manage so many more aspects of a flight than ever in 121 world.

I’m not knocking on one TPIC over another just wondering why 121 might be more valuable to UAL than 135.

Because 121 is a known quantity. 135 runs the gamut from excellent to terrible.

Never thought quantity over quality would take the cake but I stand corrected.

I heard they cancelled this a few months back because of many issues with the candidates.

Disregard the racial bit. I'm just looking for some way to stand out amongst my peers, the vast majority of whom have a similar background. Mine being on the side of qualified but unimpressive.
