Won’t bore you with labor law and “past practice” concepts. Bottom line, UPA says what it does, company will have that as policy, they will make exceptions when it suits them, we will allow that because it can be a good deal for a pilot. Same with a day room or quick turn in base hotel on a reserve when the company grants it even if not required by the contract.
We accept they will make exceptions that help us and them. We agree not to try and push the “past practice” button.

You’ll get some gouge during INDOC. Don’t try and grab onto too many things too soon. Stick to the basics. We have new hire mentors and the PDR system to offer guidance on issues as well once you hit the line.
Basically a day room is provided if you have a scheduled sit (in the original pairing) that goes over a certain threshold. It depends on where you are at and if there is an approved crew lounge at the location.
A quick turn is covered in 20-I-6h of our contract and allows a reserve to be assigned a 10+45 in base/domicile rest rather than 12+45 if they are the only reserve available.
