Great idea! You always want a retirement account that can be taken away. Preferably about 6 months before retirement.

I think the annuity that has been brought up and discussed won't be taken away 6 months prior to retirement. This has been an attempt to recover some of the a-plan that was given away not taken away.

Well I guess that is a possibility, waiting to see what the mec comes up with when there is info on the table. Seems like they are just looking at a way to recoup some of the A plan. Not starting an argument just bringing up the possibility if and when we get a contract to look at.

What we really need to do is make the "voluntary" RHA contribution an option to contribute OR take home pay when you meet IRS limits.

You planning on dying before you retire? You might want to have a chat with some retirees as to how big a bite Medicare Part B takes out of their SS check.
Even if you have Tricare for Life, you have to pay Medicare Part B.

This chart is per person, not family:

So you want to get rid of tax-free-in/tax-free-growth/tax-free-out money and have it taxed now and grow taxed?
