So the Xmas card was a jab at the company after all. Poor decision from our union.

Anyway. No contract for years boys and girls. My bet is,at minimum, two years until we see a TA.

I think it’ll be a while too. Delta might be on the same track since I believe their CEO said no new contact in 2019 during their investor day last month.

The trouble is my life experience shows me that intelligence earns rewards, and not coincidentally intelligent people tend to rise to the top, and earn great rewards from their choices and decisions. I am blessed enough to have enjoyed that reality so far. Obviously the reverse is not true in that people at the top are not necessarily intelligent.

Yes, I value the opinion of my wife and sister who are both "C-suite" members. I think there analysis was correct, and I think that the Christmas card was a poor choice, but that is an opinion and worth less than a cup of coffee.

What is my wife's and sister's opinion of Scope? It is formed by the facts I present of which I can not help but be biased in presenting. My family tends towards liberalism and in general supports unions. Do you think somehow my posts to date indicate some desire for an early agreement at the expense of anything? No, I do not believe any shape, form, or type of concession on Scope would be acceptable. Scope Choke is working, and I hope Mr. Kirby chokes on that reality whenever he finally concedes the position.

In the end this is a discussion and form of entertainment presented through a form of communication that simply didn't exist until recently in human history, and I rather enjoy the experience overall even if I am publicly proven wrong on occasion.

I'm just breaking balls for sport. The way I see it, we already sold a big chunk of our inertia when we bit off on the extension and sold the exemption for pennies on the dollar. I might be completely wrong but people a LOT smarter than me made eloquent and cogent arguments to that end at that time. I think their arguments had merit. Most don't. I also have no desire to rekindle those arguments.

Kirby really wants scope relief and we don't want to lose flying. So, we're at loggerheads. My AA buds tell me that they caved when things were tough there. I can't help but think Kirby views this group with the same level of backbone so he's got his fingers crossed, and we're in the other corner beating our chests. As a result, I don't expect much, soon. I hope that I'm wrong, but pessimism has served me well for most of my career. Which is why I didn't get lathered up when they published that silly card.

Oscar could push this in our direction if he wanted to, but I don't think that he does. He's saving a bunch of money under this contract and the airline is performing well. Stand by for holding instructions.

I can't help but point out the humor in somebody proudly proclaiming how their higher cognitive horsepower and resultant awareness has blessed them and their above average family with success and superior insight, all while not knowing the difference between their and there.

If you're going to beat on your chest, at least bother to bring post-middle school writing.

Amazing how consistently wrong such an intelligent person can be. And you're on top? LOL.

A labor force that enjoys high job satisfaction probably offers better operational performance and customer satisfaction than a disgruntled labor force. We've recited a variation of that maxim our entire careers; "management takes care of employees, employees take care of customers, customers take if of shareholders."

United is making substantial investments in airplanes, airports, and other "things". But, take a look at staffing cuts for FAs coming in February. I believe that's a good barometer for the regard management has for labor. I fully expect them to ride the wave of goodwill into the next recession, and then cry poor mouth.

"not knowing the difference"

Of course I know the difference, but this is a forum of entertainment, and as such I pass here with only seconds to spare. Yes, you caught me posting "there" instead of "their". Yep, I'm stupid. You win. Not

I am grateful.

Sorry, but you’re way out of line here. Organ donation is something I hope that gets trumpeted as much and often as humanely possible. Seeing someone live a healthy life and be back at work and talk about what a rewarding thing it is to donate an organ will hopefully encourage others to follow suit. There are hundreds of thousands of people waiting (and dying) for a healthy kidney.

You can dislike Garry for his politics and his opinions, but the gift of his kidney to save his friends life is not something to shame him about. That was extremely poor taste.
