It is entirely dependent on BES. I've been able to drop at will in the past but am currently in a BES where manning is short so dropping and even trading is difficult.
For WB pilots, there are some high credit hour trips that will be nice to drop, which will put them below 50.

Before the 50 hr floor came back, I did it multiple times on the 756 dropping all the way to zero. It's unnerving to see your pay register saying $0.00 and barely any trips open for the month, but I always ended up doing well. Not for the faint of heart!

I think it'll be much tougher to drop that low, with everyone wanting to do drops now.

But there's still a large group that will be happy to pick up anything.

Thank goodness that those guys are there. The lackadaisical can’t drop if the ambitious aren’t able to pick up. If they didn’t pick up flying, we’d be stuck flying our lines. Hiring dead weight onto the books just so we can drop down to what we prefer in any given month makes no sense either.

Well, I get it now, the removal of the fifty hour floor will benefit a few pilots but certainly not all that will get that good deal. A total of zero drops were allowed in my fleet, 756 in the latest big pick...

We must do a a LOA to get rid of this good deal that is now allowed per the latest LOA....

Or, negotiate a contract....Get it now?

Absolutely. I pick up extra hours when I've got nothing to do - kids are out of the house and it gives me a chance to earn money to pay someone else to do my yardwork, etc that I don't want to do. I've even gotten to the point where I take our cars to the shop to get maintenance rather than do it myself.
Just as long as people don't try to pick up time when there are pilots on the street.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I find that people who constantly talk about how hard it is to trade, drop, bid, ect typically don’t know how to work the system like some others. If you truly know what you’re doing with trading and bidding, you can do pretty well, even if you aren’t super senior.

Not taking you as a jerk at all. When the company has not alllowed any drops in a category for certain months, the issue is not pilots not knowing how to submit drops.

Squril....

Contract, NOT loa’s

Is this thread about profit sharing projections for this year? It’s hard to tell.
