Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you.
I'm not exactly sure what the previous post alluded to, but so far I have not read anything too revealing or even remotely compromising in your eagerness to share the enthusiasm of getting hired at United.
If I were HR, I'd easily recognize that this entire 'public forum' is geared to do exactly that...which is to share in the excitement and collective success of all who attended. So, if you wish to share the fact that you received the Hogan, and got called, more power to you. Now, as far the details of your interview and the Hogan, that's a different story.

I think their reasoning is two fold. They want you to pick them because you want to be a United pilot. How is someone from the outside looking in supposed to know what the culture is like without seeing it. Even being told from someone on the inside isn't really enough. Working at a United Express airline for a decade doesn't even do it justice. Second is the fact that there are some people out there with great resumes but zero interpersonal skills that they need to weed out.
The United culture is a moving target and we are about to replace half of our pilots within the next 10 years so they care about who they reshape the culture with. They want people to understand the airline and to protect what we have here. We don't care what color your tie is or how much of a nerd you are as long as you can shine yourself up and be friendly for a few hours... which is the majority of our job.
This isn't Delta and if you ever get the chance to interview at another airline or have in the past you will see an immediate difference in their culture. We have the most women as a % of our pilot group of any airline. Almost double that of Delta and American. The good ol boy club died a lot longer ago here. We have more widebodies covering more of the planet than our domestic competition. Our union is very much involved with almost every aspect of our company. It also has a history book worth of contentious issues from the past. I think it will make us stronger with future market turmoil and stopping our board and management from making short term gains at the expense of long term profitability (scope.)
If you are qualified and capable they really do want you and they want you to feel like you have some sense of us before you decide. Good luck!

Thank you Triple, my thoughts exactly. We are all here to support each other. I did not think I was being careless with my postings. I just merely wanted to let others who attended the event know that there is hope for all of us. But, as you can see, some differ in that opinion, which is fine. Regardless, I hope this doesn’t turn into a whole discussion about what to post or what not. In the end, it is up to the individual how much they want to share or not share, as long as it is respectful, and thoughtful, of course.
Again, thank you for the good wishes, I will continue to [carefully] post the progress so that others may benefit from my experience on what to expect. Thanks!

A buddy of mine received the “be patient” email just yesterday. I guess another batch went out. Nice! It’s coming...!
