Not having a 1st class medical in the application website will void your app. Find somewhere and go.
Side Note: HR Reps at UAL definitely will know what a 1st class medical looks like, they are people who hire airline pilots for a living not random nobodies. Who do you think goes over the application when you go to an interview?

Having to have a medical for a job fair !?!?: I agree , don’t overthink it. Surely you need one for the overall job position but not to hand out your resume and talk shop for 10 mins
Not required period. You aren’t submitting any documents . You can update your Medical when you get it on Airline apps . I would do it quickly just in case your stuff gets scored/reviewed ASAP . However if you can’t get it done prior to job fair it’s fine . You can always mention it and say you have appointment to do it . The Recriument team/HR are very understanding people . Get it done if you can but surely not required for a job fair.

Yeah, you should risk showing up to a job fair where they only invited the most “qualified” applicants, based on their airline-apps applications. And now you aren’t technically qualified because your medical is expired. That sounds like a great strategy.....
Go get your medical before you show up. I don’t know why this is even a question.

Come prepared and don’t give an answer that you can use at another airline interview.

This is terrible, life altering bad advice. If you do not have a valid medical or passport you are not eligible for an interview at United Airlines and your application drops out of the system for consideration. Many Many airlines have a computer, even at cattle call, meet and greets to enter info on applications, they will know.
I would do everything in my physical capacity to get a first class. If there is no humanly possible way, bring it up.

In a bit of a panic here. I received the invite in the first round, definitely going. My first class medical was up in August and between my AME being on vacation much of the month and me blocking 95 hours I couldn't get in. (I'm an SIC at current company, so fine here as far as 2nd class is concerned). I have an appointment in September but it's just after the job fair and I'm desperately trying to get in beforehand and am on a "cancellation list" but if nothing comes up how bad is this going to look? I'm not concerned I won't pass but where I live there aren't options for AME's nearby.
If you have to drive a couple hours or fly, go do it. You'll be much more comfortable at the fair. I would not go to this somewhat exclusive hiring event with an invalid application. If you're flying that much, do it on a layover.

If you think they have the resources to check every iteration of your application, then disregard.
