Default We're back in the puppy snuffing business

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/01/unit...s-mix-ups.html

Starts again mid-June.

I give it until the end of July before United has another pet incident (dead, lost, sent to wrong city) in the news.

Personally, I'd rather we stayed out of the pet transport business. At least we won't be killing any more oversized rabbits. https://nypost.com/2017/04/25/one-of...united-flight/

Yeah, people too! Might have another Dao.

I hear some cargo haulers are hiring. You might be safe there.

People smuggling small dogs in duffel bags that aren’t meant for live animals will likely result it the death of their pet.

Interesting? are you referring to the French Bulldog that died? I didn't know they smuggled it on in a regular duffel bag.

Not only that...they drugged it so it wouldn’t make any noise. Then they lied about it and said the dog was in an approved pet carrier and that the dog cried for two hours and could be heard in the cabin.

It was all krap.

So. Had live animal in cargo today. What’s up with that?

I had expected that this thread would upset some, as it's been another negative covered by the media about United. It's not like United is the only carrier that's ever had an animal die - we just get a lot more coverage when a transported animal dies.

This is a big company; there will be plenty of things that occur at United that will be attacked by the media. I'll gladly take the occasional Dr Dao/dead animal negative press over a major accident involving a United aircraft.

Agreed. What we have is a communication problem. We need something like a new Senior VP to head communications.
