In my BES last year all PP was straight 100%. Now all of a sudden this year it’s always starting at 50%. Guess someone got wise at the crew desk and knew there are pilots that will do it for less, so why not start at 50%. Sucks that the company has the ability to dink with the amount they pay for these PPU trips, but it also sucks that guys are willing to be the lowest bidder. Who am I kidding though, we are just pilots after all. Save us from ourselves!

I used to see guys sitting #1 on SRM list and sees a 11.5 hour one day pop open last second with no reserve coverage. (flight out, and DH back from HI). I pounced on those trips. 11.5 hours in one day, are you kidding me?! Too easy with the nice nap on the way home and back home by 11 PM. Yet the #1 guy is all ****ed off because he expected to get the SRM pay for it. So anyone junior shouldn't jump on a good deal? The arrogance. Mine was no Premium Pay. It's a gamble to wait. I've done it before and it worked out, and other times, i said no way, 50% is a great deal and took it.

Dumbest thing i've heard. That's called greed and if you lose out waiting for your 100%, don't complain. Smart move is to grab a trip with PP while you can. If you won't do it until 100%, then no one can say you are wrong, but don't go saying the guy who picked up multiple trips at 50%, is foolish.

I do the same thing Sux just described, as do most of the guys in my BES. I watched five 50% trips sit in open time all day last month. Around 1800 they all went to 100% and everyone on the SRM list vanished. I was not a beneficiary but it made me smile to see it play out. Good thing there werent a bunch of you’s.

It’s not arrogance, it’s called cooperation. If we all work together we all benefit. It’s all about you though, and we’ve seen those types too.

It’s not greed, it’s knowing the fact the companies back is against the wall and if they want their last minute trip covered they shouldn’t be haggling for the most desperate pilot willing to do it for less. If you’re gonna rush your butt to the airport on your off days, FFS value yourself and the pilot group a bit more and do it for the max!

I haven't been here long enough to really get the gist of Premium time . But I will say I have waited several times for a trip or wanting something better including waiting for 100 percent premium, And it never comes , thus ending my month way lower than I wanted. Keep in mind I drop to 50 many times only cause I toss LGA trips out . So I get both sides of the argument , both sides have burned me . This is coming from a junior G line guy .

Pilots will do what they deem best for themselves. I think those of us on team 100% or Bust don’t appreciate the games that are played by the crew desk to find the lowest bidder when they are desperate to cover a trip. It would be ideal if any PPU trip was just paid straight 100%. No discretion from the crew desk, no games, just straight 100%. But again, first world legacy pilot problems here... glad we argue over this stuff right now.

This is a riot, I’ll pick up a trip for no premium pay if it makes me money, for me to give a f&ck for someone senior to me with a better schedule and better vacation to pick it up for 50/100% what a joke. I’ll gladly make my check higher at no premium pay then hold out to give you double pay. What a joke😂😂 get a life guys.....

I always check reserve coverage before picking up a trip. If none, then I wait for the trip to go to PP. I don’t think I have ever picked up a trip less than 100%. I would rather one of my brothers and sisters make a lot of extra coin than me make just a little extra coin.

For those around when the furloughs did hit , did the company / union arrange to lower everyone's credit to keep guys off the street . ?
I will be the first to call my self a credit ***** when given the chance however it's all extra , if a furlough time ever came . Min credit is perfectly acceptable and a must imo
