Paul Carlson, in the Crew Resources Update, stated that LAX777 would close and specifically advised LAX777 crews to not participate in the vacancy bid in order to preserve their displacement rights. LAX777 is a small enough base that almost every LAX777 pilot should know this within the next couple of days.

Impressive.
That’s larger than needed to “fund” a single June new hire class and will cause lots of summer training. I’ll take this as a good sign that the training center is planned to be running at capacity this fall otherwise they could have waited a few months for many of these categories.
Great news for poolies, those seeking jobs, and current pilots.

Also notice that the man power update advised EWR peeps to think about bid freezes on this vacancy bid with the EWR 787 looming. Good to see them being open about everything, and some love headed EWRs way. This bid is supposed to just be the first of a series, its about time!

Then , assuming most (some) of the displaced folks want to stay in LAX, they could just get the new assignment, the 12 days of training, and bang zoom the 787 base has grown quickly by the 15 bids on the vacancy and however many 777 FOs want to move over.
The 787 production tracking shows we have 7 of the 787-10s coming by April. Not sure how quickly the rest will come after then as that is as far into the future the website shows.

Must actually be planning on growing the LAX 787 domicile even more. With this bid they will have a chance of getting the junior bid holder to be junior to the current bottom LAX777FO , so everyone on the displacement could hold LAX 787 FO.

The first 787-10 not supposed to arrive till November 1, with two more in December, but no revenue flights planned for this year.

You sure you aren’t thinking of the Max9’s?
