So now that everyone is happy to see Barton gone, can anyone speak to the rumors of allegations levied against the MEC on scope relief/provisioning of UAL pilots to RJ feeders that instigated all this?
From 10k feet, it looks like DC politics. Get caught doing something, get called out and rather than face the music, engage in character assasination and deny deny deny.
I’ve read both sides, but something doesn’t add up and I can’t figure out what it is.
If we don’t have a TA by the end of the year with scope claw back (status quo is not a goal).... we’ll know I guess.

Whole process was embarrassing and for those of you who aren't aware, the political BS that is ALPA brings out lobbying and wheeler dealing on a meeting by meeting basis. If JB did any of the aforementioned things during an election, he would not be the first and most certainly won't be the last. Hope the next LEC 57 Captain Rep is content with sitting in a corner and doing what he's told.

And the ineptness of some people thinking we should wait for end of term elections to have rid Barton, just amazes me.
Then you have clueless people that think he was a nice guy! What does being nice do, when he is backstabbing, aspiring in the background for higher positions for his own selfish gain. Heck, evenTimothy McVeigh's mom will tell you her son was nice, even after he killed 200 people in the OKC bombing.
I think Oly Olson needs to resign immediately for backing Barton. Oly is a nice guy, but his true colors have shown. He is done with Alpa as well, and should see the writing on the wall, and just go. We need cohesiveness as one front going into these elections.

No, I don't have any issues with either of them because I don't know or follow either one of them. However, the whacko posts by anti-JB pilots on the UAL forum are pretty far out there. I've read a lot of accusations with zero proof - how much is truth and how much is fiction, I don't know.
This isn't the first time that factions within UALALPA have had their elementary school rants in the forums. Very classy stuff. Including some former union leaders. Makes me feel really good about our union.
Are you saying that some of TI's supporters aren't whack jobs?
And oldmako, invoking Dubo's name is a HUGE negative in my book. In his wake, due to his 'advancements', UALALPA spent more than a decade trying to recover.
His statement on choking the golden goose still resonates poorly with me. I've got no problem thinking such thoughts. To make a statement like that in public only vilified every pilot on property.

"I swear, it's very hard for me to take either side seriously. We constantly elect the most immature jackwagons to ALPA positions. Both sides suck."
I care more about the results of elected leaders than what their "supporters" say. Your post referred to those elected and that is what I responded to.
Regarding that Goose, blaming Duninsky's "advancements" for the financial hardships we suffered is straight from management's talking points. I only feel vilified when I leave those golden eggs on the table.

Agreed, but let's be real, nothing is a secret anymore in this era. This thread involves .01% of the union participants anyway. You're right though, oh the irony.
