Putting a dog in an overhead.....real crappy thing to do, but not fatal. Need the whole story.

Does it even matter? Nope. We were wrong in a big way on this one. It can't be defended, and the company (correctly) has already owned it. Here comes another boycott.

Short nosed breeds (like the bulldog in question) are very sensitive to heat, restrictive airflow, and stress. If a bag in the overhead pushed up against the kennel during flight this could lead to distress or even death.

Straight from my neighbor the veterinarian.

it can only not be defended if it’s true. We don’t know that it is. We don’t know that the FA thought it was a regular bag, and that the pax didn’t say “it’s a dog!”
All we know is what someone emailed to a news outlet .

It’s the passengers fault. No one can make you put a dog in the overhead, the owner did it and then never even checked on the dog the whole flight. She should be the one that gets investigated.

Agree on the short nose dogs. My point though is that the act of putting a dog in an overhead bin does not kill it. It's a terrible thing to do to an animal, as is the cargo bin, but not 100% fatal. Who's to say the dog wouldn't have died anyway.

Not defending this. Lets get the whole story.

Default United Cursed?

Is it just me or does United have media curse? If a United story comes up in the media, it seems like there's a 3 to 1 chance the story is going to be negative. Need to get you guys some good juju!

It’s sensational if it is about United. The same negative story could come out about the other airlines and I guarantee the United one would get more clicks.

From the pictures on social media, it looks like the pax not only had the dog, but a small child, another toddler, and a stroller in tow. This ladies dog didn’t deserve to die, but again, use some f@#$ing common sense. Leave Toto at home. Humans are born with two arms last I checked, lady. Or, if the dog is a NECESSITY, leave your $800 Gucci bag at home.
