I see what you did there.....
The dude mispronounced his name in the interview as well. I can't believe students at Yale pay tuition to hear that guy lecture. He didn't have one original fact or opinion.

Upon arrival one day, a comatose dog was removed from the cargo bin, causing screams by the owner. A veterinarian happened to be nearby, and after a quick examination he asked sternly: “Did you give this dog anything before the flight”?
The owner said: “Well...um...just one of my Valium tablets.”

My cat has flown on UA dozens of times as a in cabin pet(current fee $125) with the only issue, twice being allergies.
She loves to travel and when we connect through ORD or DEN she insists on riding the moving sidewalk(I rest her container on the handrail.) Often the FAs don't notice her presence. She is purr(sic) profit to UA.
DL attaches, using string, a green tag with flight info on her container. Currently, a UA CSR will sometimes staple a regular boarding pass to the handle of her container. This is very awkward as it hard to then use the handle. UA says they are going to start using yellow tags in April. I hope these tags use string.

I agree about who's on the hook. I was talking about prosecution. They can't prosecute the FA but not the pax. Probably not politically feasible for a DA to prosecute the harried mommy, so they'll have to pass on the FA too. An animal rights agitator would argue, correctly in this case, that the pax should have de-planed.
But nobody forced her to do anything. What if the FA told her to put her infant in the overhead, think she would have got off the plane then?

49 U.S. Code § 46504 - Interference with flight crew members and attendants
An individual on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States who, by assaulting or intimidating a flight crew member or flight attendant of the aircraft, interferes with the performance of the duties of the member or attendant or lessens the ability of the member or attendant to perform those duties, or attempts or conspires to do such an act, shall be fined under title 18, imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both. However, if a dangerous weapon is used in assaulting or intimidating the member or attendant, the individual shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life.
The FA was the figure here with color of authority, and once she forced he passenger to comply with her instructions, the passenger is off the hook.
