Read it again. He said E175E2, not E175s. They are the jet that Skywest ordered. They do not fit our scope clause.

If it is a 76 seat RJ or less and they buy 1.25 SNB jets, there they go. Bigger 175 is not contractual. Unless we fly it, and here I think they are talking about 190/195E2
“The carrier is weighing the benefits that the CSeries, E2 or other models could provide in terms of scope relief against the added cost of flying them with mainline pilots, says Levy. It aims to have an "informed" view on the segment by the time it enters contract negotiations with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) later this year.“
We agree.

I agree with this theory . They will say hey we'll get the CS100/300 but we need 175'E2 to go tk skywest/express . Otherwise we won't get the CS series or equivalent .
Long story short they will come no matter what .... DONT CAVE IN OK THIS PLAYED OUT MANAGAMENT SCAM. Delta had this exact thing happen . They held strong and the result was fantastic.
we all know the company would love to outsource , it's their job to crunch the beat numbers ... it's OUR job to not let that happen by being sold new shinny jets and stories about future growth .. we've all seen it before ...
Hold strong

Why add another fleet? C series fuel efficiency doesn't really pay off until over a 500-mile flight, it is largely more fuel efficient due to the engine which competitors will eventually match, and with under a 100 of these things, we will be adding a level of complexity that we can't manage during IROPS. A320/A321 neos (lr models can reach Europe), 737 MAX... adding another one of those will always be cheaper and easier to operate. We have the sims, pilots, mechanics, towbars (guppy tail stands), trained ground crews and parts. Bombardier's last airplane was the q400 and I think everyone has forgotten how big of a turd that airplane was for years after it was launched.
What I think the new management has finally realized is that if marketing doesn't think we can fill 126 seats (737-7) but we can somehow fill 100 in a shiny, new c series than our problem is (and always has been) our marketing department. The same dopes that , until just recently, have been running 50 seaters to main business traveler hubs. I don't think we will see a c series or e2 here at mainline or at one of our regionals. IMO They wanted to open up negotiations to get rid of the NSNB requirement to unlock more 76 seaters by adding more Max and Neo aircraft which were going to be ordered with or without us.

Domestically, I fly only DAL/AA/UAL, basically. I will love the "C", and I really like the ERJ-175 already. If UAL flies those aircraft, and DAL/AA has some crappy aircraft, like a 737 or MD88, I will chose UAL first. I have already flown UAL as my first choice because the flight is on the ERJ-175. I hope UAL gets the "C"!
