Default Section 6 Opening Letters

They’re embedded in tonight’s MEC update. Discuss (without negotiating in public).

Hmmm.

But don’t see LTD in either side’s letter.

Not good.

How about the company asking for larger regional jets, change in JV rules and allow ownership of foreign airlines? All 3 are going to be very interesting to hear what exactly they think they will get.

I feel like "improve and add" on the insurance section could cover that in the ALPA letter.

Looks like giving the company anything on their wishlist will be a big fat no.

I could handle "working" on some of the stuff, but the scope stuff the company wants... HECK NO!!!!

Well we all knew the scope was coming up for discussion. My money is on the MEC keeping the NC on a tight path to not change anything in that department. If we let that cat out of the bag, we are bigger fools than management already thinks we are. And, we can kiss our careers goodbye. Delta and American would follow suit, which would only add fuel to the idiot in Congress who thinks there's no value in preserving the better paying jobs U.S. majors offer when compared to ANY foreign cabotage operation. He'd be sure to get traction on his bill when the lobbyists show statistics of all the "prosperous" regional airline jobs, and why foreign ownership wouldn't upset the established "norm" for U.S. airline careers.
