One of your family members is also astronomically more likely to die by that gun just because it is in the house.

Maybe you should pick up a history book and/or visit the poorest country in the world. Hint, it’s called Afghanistan. They’ve defeated every military and empire that has ever tried to conquer them back to Alexander. Someone should’ve told them you’re so smart and the Soviets had them licked.
None of those countries had a right to bear arms cemented within the framework of their government. It’s not a right either, it’s understood rights are bestowed by the creator. It’s a limitation on the government from taking it. Every disarmed populace has always been followed by an oppressive govt. China, Burma, Germany, etc. Stalin, Mao, Hitler... all began by disarming their citizens.

BTW good luck taking an AR15 to a drone fight, because that's the reality. Where was all this rah rah "protecting from tyranny" noise when the Republicans wrote the Patriot Act?
Talk about giving up civil liberties. Admit it. The guns are for fun. Not judging anyone for it. Just be honest. No one has these guns to use as tyranny repellant.

You’ll ignore it, but I’ll say it again; no one is talking about seizing your guns (well except maybe Trump). Sensible changes to our current ‘laws’ is worth having a conversation about. It is not a cause to cower in the corner and shot of the imminent arrival of ‘jack boot thugs’ in black helicopters. Btw what tyrannical regime has enslaved the Aussies since they lost their ‘freedom’ in 1996?
If companies like Walmart and Dicks want to impose their own limits, as has been done I fully support that, but once we start eroding one freedom the rest are free to attack. Don’t believe me? Dems, the FEC and other organizations are already trying to attack free speech on the internet.
As for Airways stupid comment on drones, google Posse Comitatus act of 1878. Also look at what drone warfare has done in the Middle East. There is no greater symbol of resolve for them than the use of UAVs, and nothing has done more to damage our image abroad than their use. For the record to your other comment, I’m a vehement opponent of the Patriot Act.

My question had nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats. It had to do with NRA defenders and their bold talk about how their easily bought weapons are going to prevent tyranny or Obamacare or whatever.

But you pictched a fit over the R’s and the Patriot Act and a lack of resistance to it. When the D’s had no problem extending it.
Where’s the (false) equilencey you’re trying to make?
BTW, read up on many of programs/policies expanded/enacted by the D POTUS and you’ll see how nonrelevant your comparison is.

That is the dumbest argument out there. When you get a pool, you statistically raise your chances of drowning. Step on a rake and in ya go. But you take the necessary precautions so that doesn’t happen.
