So C'mon. All you all jumping on the wagon, can't anyone tell me what benefit United or NRA got from this "affiliation"?
I'm not an NRA member, and I never recall seeing any NRA reference in any UAL material.
Or...is this just a case of a bunch of gratuitous "me too, me tooo"....

Airlines have been in a rush the last few years to out PC each other....
Pride parades, LGBT events, etc etc. Right or left, I don't care anymore. Get the pax their safely, treat your crews with respect, and get the job done.
FWIW...all this does is make those of us who are NRA members even more committed to supporting the organization. Like Trump, when the left or PC rally against them it just reinforces their base support.
And I was hurt, sickened, and confused all of these mass shootings. I don't have all the answers, certainly. Its going to take a lot a multi-layer effort to protect our schools. But large scale confiscation or denial of rights won't stop bad people with guns any more than it has stopped drugs or other problems.
IMHO..the FFDO program and airport security is probably a model of what needs to happen in our schools. There is no putting the genie back in the bottle, and pubic places are always vulnerable to terrorists, suicidal madmen, and evil. It breaks my heart. But those clamoring for simple solutions are probably not going to save any lives. Its going to take a combined effort of all us--like after 9/11--to decide what we need to do to keep public areas safe.
While we seem to be doing a fine job killing our own kids without foreign help, the Besian school siege is the nightmare model for what I fear here. There is evil out there. We need to work together--armed or not--to develop the survivor's mindset that we will not let anyone slaughter us without a fight. The post 9/11 view on hijacking changed the way airline crews perceive a threat. Our educators and community leaders need to go through such a shift in thinking too. Its horrific. I hate it. But it is here, and we have to adjust...

If a group were to pull off a Beslan-type attack on 3+ elementary schools simultaneously, the effects on our great nation would be greater than what has happened since 9/11. I mean exponentially greater.
It's only a matter of time before we have a significant security presence at our schools. And it's only a matter of time before new schools are designed and built with security in mind.

Good job United. NRA's showing at CPAC was mind numbing.
Harden the schools fine, but giving teachers guns and turning the place into a free fire zone is insanity.

Airlines, and other companies like them, need to stay out of politics. There primary goal is to make money for shareholders... not to cut ties with large associations who bring in large revenues. Purely idiotic political Mumbo jumbo.

No worries... SWA and AMR will pick up the customers/supporters shunned by the delta, United and all other airlines jumping into politics.

Exactly, now they have isolated half their passenger base.
Stop playing politics and just fly people to where they want to go.
Not smart from a business perspective.....
