Turns out CHIDD and EWROps thought it was cool that I got between the 2 airports in record time, and nothing came out of the delay.

But..
A few people looked up who the captain was (yes, small 'c') and told me not to worry about it. Seems the guys has a rep of being a tool.

Like I wrote, you can't make this **** up some days~

All Good..

yep. u right.

Kinda "scabby" Most of the scabs I flew with back in the day never did a walk a round. Had a blow out on the way to the airport once. summer heat and all that. Super Scab Captain didn't even initialize the IRS's. I called skeds to let them know I would likely be there for push time. Not a word was said IAH-SEA. I laughed at him when we had to divert to PDX cuz he didn't have any fuel to hold.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread.. just figured I'd mention a funny incident about LGA-EWR, (Since FSB are required to cover multiple airports sometimes).

But the jist of my example is this-
Yeah, I totally screwed up. Went to LGA instead of EWR.
I told the company,.. they asked if I could make it for departure.. I told them I would!
I screwed up and it's my responsibility to unscrew it up.
How I was raised and taught~ [Family/German/Military/NY'er]

The rest of the story comes down to a captain that basically was/is a tool.
Does he have to do the walkaround. Nope.
Could he have.. yupe.

He told me that "I don't turn my phone on once I'm at the airport", when I told him I had gone to the wrong airport and had left him a voice mail and that the company said they would call him too.

We took a 1 minute delay on a STAR flight and when we got the ACARS msg about the delay being attributed to 'Flight Ops', I wrote back-
Delay code MOTCH
(LOL)
That stated the dialogue about me and LGA... and how the hell did I get back to EWR so fast. (made a new FB friend.. guess one of the dispatchers is an amateur racer!)
Turned out to be all good.

But I will avoid that captain when bidding. Guy's a tool.
There was NO talk in the cockpit the entire way to DEN.. he just sat there reading his gun magazines. No joke.

Oh well..
Back to the regular scheduled programing!

Ive made that drive more times than I care to remember (I hate NJ), but that is some seriously impressive driving! It took me three hours just to get from the Verrazano to LGA once. Could’ve walked it faster.
