The mere fact that an individual who:
a) does not work @ UAL
-- and --
b) claims to have no interest to work at a actual airline, but also claims to be totally happy working at what is essentially an aviation staffing agency for quality of life
-- but --
c) hangs out in the UAL sub-forum trolling folks anyway
....says EVERYTHING.

An individual with real outside-of-aviation prospects or abilities wouldn't have the time or inclination to hang out here.

I'm in agreement about the failed Hogan or the "phone that never rang." Ignore the words and observe the actions.

Next thing we'll hear about is a "girlfriend" in Canada ("You wouldn't know her, but she's hot.")

Curious, I just checked SWA HOU-MDW 2/14, $251. United discount IAH-ORD $55 — economy. Oh, and $197 first class. First flight I checked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You lose. Maybe you should non-rev more, it’s a lot cheaper, and we’d get the satisfaction of leaving you at the gate.

Would you guys STOP battling this Baboon, please?!?! The sooner people ignore him the better off we will be.
STOP ENGAGING! The fact someone just wasted time comparing flights with us and SWA probably has him laughing his butt off.

Thanks. I figured it out. It's not on the employee res site. I do appreciate the info. My parents are too old to stand by travel. Not going to do wheel chairs, etc. standing by.

I said UA discount is usually cheaper if you buy your tickets within two weeks. No, you didn’t win. Spirit is cheaper out of IAH if you buy three or more weeks out. Check out the flights to ORD and tell me if where United discount beats Spirit? Doesn’t come close with the flights I checked. I travel more than you and I sometimes get better deals on American or SWA. Why do you find that hard to believe?

Look, I just checked UAL discount site on flights from IAH to a Southwest hub and the first flight I checked, SWA was 50 dollars cheaper!!!!! United can’t even compete with our employee discounts!!!! If you booked basic economy on UAL, you would save 20 dollars compared to SWA, but you could only book the last flight of the night. I know last minute flights, UAL usually offers lower discounts, but booking a few weeks out that’s not always the case.
SWA doesn't serve IAH. Only HOU. SO, not going to work.

The question at hand was how do I do it. Why you gotta hi-jack my perfectly innocent and information seeking question/thread? You need to start your own thread on the best ways to play naked twister or something.

Come on. You don’t really think of your XJT / SKYW interview as some big “I passed” achievement do you? As a former commuter guy, I certainly didn’t. I do understand you venting on this board though. Being stuck for a decade and not getting a call once hiring resumed would have driven me nuts too. I honestly feel bad for you and do hope your business success is in fact real. I’m always happy to see guys that slugged it out in an RJ move on.

Do express pilots even have access to the UA discount site?

I let people know UAL discount might not be the best deal. That’s it buddy! You are upset that I think your company is mismanaged. You should only buy tickets on UAL and be supportive of your company that needs help financially. Learn how to compete or go bankrupt again. Your choice.

The individual's probably got access to an XJT employee discount site. Which is likely much less of a discount than what United mainline employees get.

I nonrev all of the time on many different airlines.

The fact that this poser states that they never nonrev tells me they're not a pilot because although many flights are full, the jumpseat is usually available. I've never had a problem getting to where I want to go. Just a poser with an axe to grind with mainline United pilots.
