Thanks for the update. Hoping GUM stays voluntary only for the next few classes.

No prob.
If you're late thirties or older I imagine you would still have a choice on the drop. Even if you did have to select it, I think you could not signup for the 18 month tour ( to get a free one way move) and simply base transfer on the next vacancy.

Congrats! That’s a quick turn around from CJO to class I’m glad the wait is greeting shorter. Welcome to United.

What's the total number of pilots in each new hire class? I've seen 37 a lot in the drop lists, but isn't a new hire class supposed to have 40 pilots? I understand some may be a no show, so I'm more looking for the target number United looks to have in each class.

40 is the target but UA will tweak it to match available training slots.

Keep in mind that manpower planning earlier stated that they plan to use every single sim period between now and next summer. Thus, after transition and recurrent crews are scheduled they plan to use all remaining capacity for new hires.

This is the reason that we are seeing additional classes scheduled on a rolling basis and with class sizes other than 40.

What is the training capacity for the guppy? There have been a large number of captain awards and I’m curious how many they can crank through each week....assuming they are paired up with new hires and not other upgrades.
