That statement is true. This isn't so much predicting seniority progression as asking whether captain upgrade will return to is STRONG historical norm of something not available to new hires.
Although United still has a gazillion planes on order, I'm curious to see how many growth airframes the US market can soak up.

Writing is on the wall. Going to all come to a halt very soon. It always does.

No they don’t but you do get a discount on it and can be purchased at the training center. If you do buy one you probably want to avoid side pockets Incase you get the 737.

I kept my old Travel pro roller with the side pockets. As long as you don't put anything in the side pockets, the bag fits fine in the 73. I'm glad I didn't spend extra just to buy another bag without the pockets...

Like KnightNight wrote, the discount is pretty significant at the training center. It’s with LW bags.

I personally welcome every high time captain that we can get considering our quick upgrade times. I had a FO the other day that did a few months at a regional, about 500 hours at Spirit, bid captain here, and is waiting to get 500 hours at United before going to upgrade training. His total time was under 2,500 hours with no PIC, and it showed. I'd much rather have someone like you in command than someone with less than 1500 hours jet time and no command experience.
I know people say this, and it's great that the company welcomes experience, but why would a ULCC CA want to start over and sit right seat on FO pay, only to have to "mentor" any one of the recently hired low TT zero TPIC brand new captains?
If it's that bad then why doesn't your company just buy smaller airline with a deep roster of experienced CAs and pay up for the experience?
Does anyone else notice this giant whipsaw going on?

because I think a bunch of people buy the hype that the 737 is the worst thing ever made and every trip is crap. No she's not a sexy machine but she's fine and I had 10 solid years on it. Like anything it is what you make of it. If you show up jaded and ****ed it's gonna suck. But everything will suck with that attitude. I flew to some really fun small towns on it. Yeah there were some multiple leg days but you always have the fatigue card. It's fun and I don't discourage bidding it. But it's fun if you allow it to be fun. Good rule for life anyway.
