Fastest way is still work for the competition at another major for fastest call, days to a couple weeks typical. Work for a LCC and it will probably be a longer wait. Work at a competing regional maybe a little longer again. Work at a supporting regional…well you may be waiting a very long time. That’s how I understand it.

I've done some searching through the threads and have struggled to find out the following information, can anyone respond with their own experience: how long is typical between United application submission and a response from the hiring department (ideally positive response, but do they also send out negative resposnes)? Thanks for any help you can provide!

There is another vacancy bid out right now that is certain to have more unfilled, so those will be available till the end of May for New Hires. I am guessing this trend will continue so you will have Captain slots until well into the summer at least!
Next Winter/Spring there is going to be a huge need for FOs, as all these folks that are getting a Capt slot now will actually go to Captain training then, so we will need FOs to replace them. If this pace continues that will be new folks getting Captain bids that have to go to FO for a year
