No way you'd commute that. Hopefully the folks who got stuck are young enough and don't have dogs/wife/kids which make the move pretty difficult. I'd like to go do GUM for a couple years.....but my life isn't very portable right now.

It's the bottom two pilots in class and they're running bids constantly. Both pilots are likely early 20's and if they want off the base, they'll get off quickly.

I'd rather that than getting forced into EWR/SFO CA as a commutter. At least you can get off GUM quickly and if you decide to take the 3 yr paid move, it's an experience you'll never forget.

Without looking I’m pretty sure there’s something in the contract that says you can be forced into Guam

If you take 2nd year pay, you’re locked into GUM. You can bypass the 2nd year pay and be free to bid out.

While everyone now gets an invite to an interview, in years past when the Hogan was a test with two possible outcomes: PASS and FAIL. You better believe there were/are still Right and Wrong answers.
However even if you get it wrong, you likely have a 50/50 shot anyway as You want to be in the middle of most things so not Strongly agree or Strongly disagree on pretty much each question.

I assume depending on your answers someone is required to take a look at it before an invite is extended. Some folks get an interview invite within 10-20 mins of doing the test, others seem to wait days to a week or so before they get the invitation. Seems if it was all automated everyone would have an invite right after the test.

Not sure if anyone is being denied an interview.

perhaps the pertinent question then is:

What percent of interview invites result in CJOs?

Last fall the pass rate was approximately 76%. No idea if it has changed since.

If a new hire gets GUM and is able to vacancy out of it, what is the max time possible a pilot would have to stay in GUM before their vacancy award is activated? In other terms, if someone gets GUM day 1 of training and they JUST missed a vacancy and have to wait for the next one, then wait for activation how long would one truly be stuck commuting to GUM?
