New Hire Classes and Drops

One useful tip I got from other posters: when reading each question, mentally insert the phrase "When I'm at work..." before each question. Then answer the question as if that phrase was included.
Do the test in a quiet space with no distractions. I took mine with a glass of wine in the evening, in my home office with the door closed. Don't try to do it in the crew room at ORD during a short stint of airport appreciation time...

I've never heard of Hogan prep, especially since the answers are so subjective it's hard to know exactly how the company wants you to answer, and if you get too specific at trying to follow a specific roadmap/personality its likely to flag as a poor score. The best advice I've heard is 1- be consistent, 2- remember the airline is hiring you to be a captain so if the question asks would you prefer to lead or get out of the way, put your big boy hat on and choose step up, not "Boy I would love to bid reserve and never fly so I'll choose the avoid work option", and 3- mentally add *at work* to the end of every question.

This. Don't overthink it. Just choose the answer to each question that comes immediately to mind. Don't answer with what you think you "should" say.

You might not like crowds at Target a few days before xmas, but do crowds really bother you in the terminal? Ex: Its a ground stop in DEN, and now have time to get your favorite dinner instead of a 25 minute turn. I don't give a crap about those crowds because I know my way throught the annoying passengers to the nearest (restaraunt) to get my yummy (food) before our leg to (overnight), and I can eat in peace once I get to the crew room.

This is how I approached the Hogan in 2017, it's still the same advice.

The rest were 737, with Captain offerings for EWR, DEN, SFO, and ORD.
FO offerings for IAH and there were two Guam FO, which went last (shocker).

I'd probably just move there. Can't imagine that commute (to RSV!)

I'm trying to imagine doing that commute. It's 15 hrs (13 hrs block plus connection in HNL) and that's from the West Coast. Imagine someone living on the East Coast, hoping for EWR and getting GUM. It's literally 24 hours, door to door, each way.

I think it works like that, right?
