How often are vacancy bids available for base transfers? In other words, let's say I want SFO 737 FO but all that is available in Indoc is IAH 737 FO. How long approximately between vacancy bids?

you can attempt a base trade every month. Vacancy bids are at the whim of the company, but they’ve been pretty much one a month for a while now.

Thank you! Expecting an early April class date, and naturally hoping to be able to get a junior base (SFO) since that's where I live...

Does anyone know how per diem works during initial training? Specifically if you are DEN based. No per diem because I’m not out of base? Or per diem only for my training duty period? TIA

Not a DEN guy myself, but I think these sections apply:

9-E-5 A DEN-based Pilot shall be considered to be “training at his Base” when at the Denver Training Center.

9-E-3 A Pilot assigned to training at his Base or a Pilot who lives at his home while in training shall be paid at the rates set forth in Section 4-A-1 (the per diem section) from the time he reports to the Training Center for training until he is released from the Training Center. He shall not receive such pay from the time he is released for days off during the training period, until reporting for training following a day off period.

Cage-Marshall has long been the gold standard for UAL prep.

For a newhire awarded DEN? You'll get full per diem like all your non-Den based classmates.
