Where do we actually see the drops and awards? Is it buried somewhere in FT?

To my knowledge it isn't published by the company. HW FB group has it.

Anyone want to dig up a few of those “the company probably won’t even do it” posts from the TA era?

Were they forced or just what those people bid for? Somehow I doubt that 20-something people who were both qualified and too junior to pick something else in class were forced into it.

There were 49 people in class and 18 CA slots up for bid. I’m sure at least some of those slots were taken voluntarily.

9 out of the bottom 10 in the class had to take a CA slot, the most junior didnt qualify and ended up with an FO slot

To qualify do you need to have 1000 hrs part 121 time?

What about a military aviatior that can count up to 500 TPIC towards the 1000 part 121 time? Could they get one of these captain slots since they have to get through probation before going to upgrade anways?

That’s not how it works. If the most junior guy got an FO slot, any of the people above him could have had it. So if anyone above that last guy bid for a CA slot, it was voluntary.

Only people who meet FAR 121.436 mins can bid for CA positions. So, yes to #1, no to #2, unless the had other qualifying time. Not all mil time counts either.
