Default Seat lock

Are we still able to break a seat lock by bidding 737 LAS? I keep getting conflicting information if this is still an option.

You can PDR it to be 100% sure… but when the next vacancy comes available (weeks?) it will specifically state if seat lock can be broken…

Per 8-D-1-e and 8-D-2-c, Pilots who have an 8-D-1 Equipment Training Freeze or 8-D-2 Bidding Freeze will not be restricted from bidding into MCO or LAS. MCO and LAS will be considered new bases (and as such, contain “new” categories) for six months past the initial opening effective date.

The catch is that the company does not use VDOs often and they are usually short notice.
True, but if you are assigned say a 2-day trip, and you have a VDO on the day after your 2-day, they can (and do) reassign you into that VDO without concurrence from you. So beware.

The instructor in my last recurrent said half of the 757’s would be gone by now IF the Max/Neo/Xlr deliveries were on time. The 756 should shrink to zero in next 7 years. 757 first, then 767. Of course plans change. I’ll bid off it when I start going backwards in seniority.

14 767-3 ( Heathrow special seating planes), 21 757-3 and 16 767-4 will be around till 2032

And after that, all will be replaced with 787s from the options batch and 321 XLRs
