Question for the group:

How long would it take for a new hire to be based out of Denver? Is the 320 or 737 more junior? If moving to Denver, what are some of the best suburbs/mountain areas west of Denver that some pilots live in? Nederland/Evergreen/Bergen Park seem like great areas. Thanks!

It shouldn’t take long. I live in downtown Littleton. It’s not in the mountains but close, and doesn’t feel like I live in Kansas. The 320 is slightly more junior at the moment but it’s pretty irrelevant if things continue to move.

That is great news. It seems like such a great area. Always loved Denver and the close proximity to great skiing and mountains.

SLC may be better for you then. DEN is physically close to the skiing, but it's a 2-3 hour drive these days.

As others have said, weekend day ski trips are not worth it to me these days. I am not willing to spend three to four hours on the hell hole that is I70. I tend to go elsewhere in CO where there are fewer people and just pay for lodging. Weekdays off are nice but it isn’t what it used to be. That being said, I love where I live and don’t want to be anywhere else.

As said, DEN is slightly more junior on the 320, but I was fortunate to only have to commute for 2 months on the 737 before getting my DEN bid activated recently. Obviously things may change, but that is the most recent gouge.

Denver has changed a lot recently, but airline schedules and weekdays off work great for my wife and I. Recently drove back from a few days in the mountains on a Saturday. All of the ski parking lots were full at 9:30am and drove past what looked like about 3.5 hours worth of traffic. If you can find somewhere along I-70 it’s convenient for getting to the airport as well as up to the mountains.

Thanks for the update! I’ve been looking along I70 it seems like that would be the best option. 30-45 minutes to the ski areas, about an hour to the airport. Can’t get much better than that unless there is a lot of traffic or a wreck!

What were your original dates? I'm in 15-Feb and haven't seen anything.

Hey, I live in CLE and they have been offering CLE 737 in the most recent class drops. Given how senior CLE has been anyone know how long it would take to hold a line in CLE.

Trying to decide if I should commute to a line in EWR or if I should hold out for a line in CLE.

Today’s new hire class (Jan 18th, 2022) is 72 pilots. They are being offered FO on everything we fly. 737, Airbus, 757/767, 777 and 787 FO in almost every base. Congrats!
