To answer your basic question I would think the amount of time to get a line for the Bus or 73 will be pretty similar if your at a Junior base like EWR maybe a little longer at IAD. If they keep hiring and demand sticks around it should go quick, couple months.

But IMO because your time on reserve (below the G-line when reserve is not a choice) will likely be short, I would ask you in return, from which airport for NYC base would you prefer to originate? Last I saw upwards of 40 percent of 320/319 trips originate & terminate at LGA vs the vast majority of 73 is EWR.

I received mine in exactly 24hrs. I was told by my interview board they’re running hiring review boards every day now as opposed to weekly to keep up with demand, so as someone else has stated anywhere from 1-3 days seems to be the average!
