Thanks.
If you couldn’t get EWR out of training, I’d be amazed. SFO and EWR are the most junior bases and EWR is very large with a lot of vacancies.

Not even a concern. There will always be EWR slots for new hires. The question is whether you're senior enough to hold it in class. But if not, the next vacancy would fix that for you.

SFO/EWR are the junior bases for new hires. Depending on the vacancy bids there may be other options but at a minimum SFO and EWR will be on the slate. If you don’t get EWR b/c you choose your preferred airframe in SFO and it’s not open in EWR, it will be open on the next vacancy bid almost for certain and certainly by the time you are done with OE. It may take a couple of months to activate your award but you will be in EWR in less than 6 months.

Put another way: new hires only get options that the rest of the company was offered and didn’t take. Since EWR is always a new hire option … it’s always an old hire option too

Thank you so much for the info, just another question, please.
If stuck on B737 for 5 years and then transfer to 787 will the hourly rate go up (according to the new fleet) or drop to year 1 and start all over again?
16% is not bad, over here we have 15%.
Also No hourly rate increment, only basic salary at aprox 3-8% yearly increment, regardless of the fleet.

if you had been at United for 5 years when you made the transfer, you would start your stent on the 787 at 5th year pay. Same goes for captain upgrade, you would start at 5th year captain pay if you upgraded at 5 years.

Default New Hire Class

Could someone provide some quick training info?
Training is in DEN the entire time at the doubletree, correct? What types of rooms are they; double queens, with a kitchenette, etc? Trying to plan out what lies ahead, thanks in advance.

Doubletree for BI, then either Doubletree or Sheraton downtown. The doubletree is nice if you get a remodeled room. No kitchenette. You will grow to know all the food in the area. It’s across the street from the training center so you can eat breakfast and lunch there too for a reasonable rate. Sheraton is about 25 minutes minimum from the training center and shuttle runs on a schedule. Think doubletree is a better option IMO especially if you have 4 am sim
