They do have more need. That’s why there’s a limit on total DEN slots and not on EWR/SFO.

They have announced 6 classes between May 11th & June 22nd. Seems like each class has 30-ish people.

Gotcha thanks! I wonder if anyone knows which of those 6 they are currently filling. I know there were quite a few CJOs from last year

Agreed. Sometimes I just want to believe that things will be better. That the brand will mean something like it used to. It was a honest question, WADR to Hoss. I am a multi-gen United brat, and I should know better haha.

Regarding the DEN slots. According to this DEN is now United’s largest hub. Also cost of living has sky rocketed in Denver- something in common with other junior hubs.

class size 32 I think...
The LHR van driver is accurate in class size (32) and offerings.

The final actual award for the 5/11 Class (nickname "Delayed and Confused" by the last class hired in 2020):
DEN 737: 10
EWR 737: 6
EWR 756: 5
LAX 737: 4
SFO 737: 7

The LHR van drivers are way better than TK rumors 😃

The “mayor” did a fine job at the event and the class name is perfect. Kru was also there.

Just got a LCA email that stated initial hiring projections are being revised from 300 to 1000 by years end. We are also buying an additional two 737 MAX sims for a total of five (full flight MAX sims). As always its TK news so take with a grain of salt.

Looking from the outside. Hard for me to believe United has the capacity to hire and train 1000 pilots between now and the end of 2021. Don’t think they have ever hired at that rate in their history. The end of 2022 is very doable.

AA has said, conservative, they will hire 900 by the end of 2022. The 2018 peak (2019 was slowed due to Mad Dog retirement retraining) was 939.
