Default 772 Jumpseat International

Howdy!
I was wondering about etiquette and procedure on International Jumpseating for UA pilots.
Are we now allowed to utilize the crew rest area regardless of fleet we are qualified on?
What crew rest is provided for a 3 Pilot crew on the 772 sub-CO configuration?
Also, is it rude or a pain in the operating crew's behind if there is a jumpseater back to the US?
Thank You!

Read your FOM, it's all spelled out there. The conversation you have with the operating line crew is between the two of you.

No pain really... read the FOM. Using the rest area is for takeoff and landings to give the JS a secure seat... not for JS to use the bunks during the flight.

I Was right... company restricts use of pilot crew rest facilities to pilots assigned to the ID/trip (not JSr)... except for takeoff and landings (787/777-300) if cockpit seats full (dbl augmented).

Yes, UAL non-777 pilots can now use the bunk room seats on the -300's as jump seats. You have to read the egress directions, and the bunk room door has to be secured open for take off and landing.

CO 772's have a cabin level bunk room for the pilots just like UAL 200's, only 2 jump seats in the cockpit.

The best solution obviously is a seat back in the cabin, if it's available.

...and jumpseaters CAN use the pilots’ cabin rest seat (777-200) for takeoff and landing.
