"Yes Captain Brown, that is YOUR jet. Now, show up in BWI at 0400, fly to ORD at 0500, sit for two....take another jet and fly to DSM. Plane breaks enroute. Call TOMC. Ferry to DEN, sit and swap. Taxi out for Deice. Sit 90mins. Deice again. Taxi back for fuel. Fly to OMA. Sorry! M's is closed! So, enjoy the hotel bar!

Day two, Fly, swap, fly, swap, "excuse me Captain, but the pax in 14B is threatening to drop trou and crap in the aisle"......fly, sit, swap, fly. "Welcome to the Radisson Capt!" You have 12.3 hours to unwind and fill out FSAPs.

Day three. Fly, have airplane handed to you at 100 knots with the reverses open, auto brakes still engaged, sit, swap and wind up at the hotel by noon. Go back to drome at 2100 and fly Red-eye to EWR.......

All in good fun Sunvox! Enjoy the left seat of the Bus. It's EASY! V1, Vr, Rotate, Gear up, Push "Take me to LA" button, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

R u trying to scare me? 'Cuz yur doin' a great job.

Got a call last night from another friend who is a 737 Cap in IAD. He told me stories that made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Between that and what you have to say, I'm beginning to question my decision, JK

but, I AM hoping it will be a short lived stay on the Bus and that a EWR756 vacancy will come down the pike in under a year then I really will be able to T/O and hit the "take me to LA" button. Plus I'm hoping with 31% seniority I'll be able to hold a few of the nicer 1 leg to PHX or SEA trips.

Honestly though the single biggest factor is night flying. I have found that the Asia and Europe all night flying is just too hard for my body. I am amazed at the guys that seem to bounce back and forth and can live on a 6 hour nap on the plane, but me personally I don't care if I'm sleeping in DSM or DEL; I just want to sleep during "normal" hours for the rest of my career.

Nice plane you had their James

Needless to say I had more days off on the 777 then the 73 but I also spent two days after each trip feeling like death warmed over. You値l love being captain, sleeping on your body clock, and not flying to the same 5 cities. Congrats!!! I値l never go back to the widebody, glad some guys want to be there!

It痴 nice to have options. I enjoyed the guppy flying out of Newark. I also enjoy being lazy on the 777 and making more money. The jobs are completely different...not better or worse...just different.

This bid seems pretty flat to me.

I thought the newly renovated TK was going to be the spring-board that would lead us into hiring a thousand pilots this year? Not a really good start to the year and towards hitting that goal if you ask me.

I guess the airbus aircraft coming from China are full of after-market clone Chinese parts and those aircraft are failing inspection??? Love to know the true-scoop on what is causing the delay of these aircraft deliveries.

Funny you say that about the clone parts. I was just talking to a guy at another airline that bought some used Chinese busses. They had so much pencil whipping and cloned out parts in them that they are retiring most of them early.

This is the reason for the delay. Parts not living up to UAL's standards need to be replaced (which is a good thing).

Yeah and the 2230 departures to the West Coast are great on the NB, when you don't even have the benefit of the sun on arrival to help you "wake up" after 6 hours. Oh and then 12 hours in the hotel before a 2 or 3 leg day.

Or how bout 2 legs early am to the West Coast, day sleep then a 1130 pm red eye back to the east coast to finish early. Aint 117 grand!

Remember 117 was developed so the FAA can tell you when to be fatigued and when to be alert! Now straighten up and fly right.

Our management is not living up to standard.
