Default I-Pad slow down

After updating to iOS 11.2 I've noticed a marked slow down in some apps that require typing and use copy/paste... like Jepps.

Thought maybe it was just me, but now reading Apple intended to slow down older devices to protect the battery.

Did not update my personal pad beyond 10. Glad I didn't.

Gotta love to hate Apple.

We have IPad Air 2s at Air Canada and with the recent JeppFD-Pro update I find we can no longer quickly switch between Apps without JeppFD-Pro freezing up for a time.

Just noticed some news stories about Apple deliberately throttling back processor performance on older IPhones so they can handle the latest IOS. Same thing with older IPads?

I changed my iPhone 6 battery last night.
It is obviously faster, but it still gives me a little white screen time while loading Music, Podcasts, Notes, etc.

Yeah I found the iPhone 6 intolerable after the new iOS came out a few months ago. Switched to an 8 during Black Friday special when they were bogo and it is lightening fast compared to the iPhone 6

Re-indexing the new iOS takes awhile and really hits battery life. And it doesn’t happen when the device is sleeping. The more you use it the better it gets. The company iPad is doing the same as my iPhone did after upgrading to iOS 11. My iPhone is back to normal but took a long time sadly.

Uh huh. What month would that be?

Maybe part of the new fleet plan.

Planned obsolescence, the new pro ones are a hell of a lot nicer though.

Betting I won't have one by February 2018. 2019 maybe.

Also wifi is being turned on in all cockpits in September 2015.
