Default Military Lawsuit being settled

Received my settlement notice yesterday in the mail. Looks like the B fund portion of the suit is finally getting hammered out. For those not familiar, this is a legacy CAL issue.

Glad to see our military guys and gals finally made whole. Wonder if that's the final hurdle for the mysterious 5% that was withheld so many moons ago?

It's a lawsuit. The final hurdle will be when the milk runs dry for the lawyers and that cow jumps the moon.

What an idiotic thing to negotiate. Withold pilot pay to cover union DFR suits.

It's a win/win /win for the company, the union, and the lawyers. Keep that cash on the balance sheet, the union gets to claim higher back pay than what we really got, and make work for lawyers.

Too bad ALpA hadn't thought of that prior to PAA/UAL, or TWA/AAL.

I think it's becoming a thing now.

Good. They should have taken care of our military guys in the first place. That carve out wreaked of lcal management stank.

There are two class action suits being settled.

That signing bonus carve out was crafted by the NC approved for ratification by the MEC and voted in by the combined pilot group.

The retirement fund shortage was pure LCAL management stink.

Both are going to be remedied for a percentage on the dollar considering “the time value of money.”

My many thanks to the former Military affairs chairman who organized the team that has righted these two wrongs.
