Too many guys are looking at the Junior Man and thinking that's the reference point, and on the west coast, that no longer applies. Too many guys sub 9000 struggling to get CAP. Now that there are openings coming up, you'll have some senior FO's in the 3000-5000 range finally bidding to the left seat knowing they'll have junior guys in the 7000-9000 range coming under them. First step is to have that announcement of the new airbii or it's moot.
This.

If you can't be a comfortable line holder as a captain, why bid down from WB FO? Takes roughly 86 hours in a WB to equal 73 on reserve as a captain.

So 18 days off, flying one leg to a 24+ hour overnight... or schleping around on reserve flying 3 legs a day?

I'll tell you directly from my Delta buds. The MD starts early and has super long duty days with 4 or more legs. Noncommutable and it's a dinosaur of an airplane. This is much different than our UAL NB's. Proofs in the pudding bud. Just look at how senior these CAP slots are going for and will be by end of this vacancy. Not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic. To throw out a DAL mad dog CAP seniority was asinine.
Who exactly threw out DAL mad dog CAP seniority at UA? Someone claiming 10500 out of 12,500 isn’t close to what Delta is doing, nor is it asinine.

Exactly. This is why I won’t take a NB CA bid and exactly why NB Captain bid will go really junior in a few more bids.

Wow. Did you even read the previous threads?! You look like a knucklehead for posting a remark by showing you don't know what you are talking about and just jumping in without prior reading. About 12 postings before your post, the DAL MD was mentioned and they used it as support at how junior these CAP bids can go!!

I'll stick with being informed and actually reading previous posts, and if my comments warrant being called a knucklehead, then so be it!

How does 12 days of work equate to 86 hours of credit? Not trolling, just wondering.

There are 3 day International trips that pay 22 hours. LAX-LHR for example. Do 4 of those and that's 12 days work for 88 hours.

SFO-SYD is a 4 day worth about 34 hours, including the add pay.

That's why WB FO goes senior.

279 hours YTD. A great deal depends on other factors like living in base, tolerance for an uncertain schedule, enjoyment of sitting at the flight controls. It’s one of the great things about this profession—choices.

For the record SFO-SYD is 28.5 or so and zilch planned add pay.
