I'll bet all this TK stuff has cost the company a fortune. I think we ought to leave the APU's off all summer and save some money.

Default To publish or not to publish (airlineapp)

As a prospective nervous young candidate I'm conflicted with the following issue: I'm headed to the NGPA Industry Expo in Feb but I'm still 18 months out from mil retirement (Oct 2019 available), should I publish my app before I go (I'll be woefully deficient in the 100hr currency department)? Would there be any value handing them a resume without a published app? Looking to not shoot myself in the foot. Thanks all!

I think it would be more harmful not to publish it.

Publish app ASAP and update it every 2-4 weeks. Make sure all the docs stay updated (medical, passport...)

I was at TK three weeks ago. I thought: "Looks great...but did they really need these 'Star Trek' entry turnstiles (that don't work yet)? Did they really need to tear out the wrought-iron bannister at the entry....and replace it with stainless steel?" There are other examples.

I still think DENTK was the right choice for a consolidated facility, and it needed some renovation and expansion.

But I think they went WAY overboard on what was spent.

^^^^^^^^^^What these guys said.

Granted, seems to have been a while since I've seen/heard of it;

But there were some military guys with distant separation dates that were sent emails from HR along the lines of "we saw your app, please respond back to set up an interview when within 6 months (I THINK) of your planned separation date.

Yep, publish now and update. I published my app 16 months before I retired. Got a call from United at 10 months to availability that said to call when I hit the six month mark. I was in a staff job and hadn't flown in two years.

That one time it was like 100 degrees in the airplane and he wouldn’t start it. External air wasn’t hooked up and he was on the radio trying to get it hooked up while everybody cooked. I ended up just starting the APU without his permission and he gave me the stink eye. Ridiculous lack of SA by a small minority. But I get it.

Back on topic...publish your application ASAP. It can’t hurt to have it out there. It can hurt not to....

That needs to be taken care of or you'll just be spinning your wheels publishing your app.
