While we can bid those slots to change base or airplane, that isn't why the company publishes those vacancies. If they just needed to shuffle the existing pilots around it would be through displacements.

The company generally avoids displacements like the plague.. with the paid move and other benefits associated with it, they'll carry a base at minimum staffing for a looong time before they displace.

I'm amazed at how senior SFO 777 FO is going. A year ago, it was going way junior. I guess this is a seniority correction.
