Local reserve and Short Call.

its pretty clearly spelled out in the contract... the loophole the company closed was being able to figure out what SCs were APU'd by the pilot and which were assigned by crew desk. In the past they've been throwing them all together and paying as if assigned by crew desk... thats over. The real question is whether the company is going to come back looking for the "overpayments"... which was how this was characterized in the message.

Gotcha , so wait do the unused short calls only count if they are wants I was assigned from scheduling , versus ones I picked up (APU) ? As far as going above MPG ?

Once more, with feeling...
3-C-1-b-(1)-(a)
3 out of first 5: After 2 unused SC/FSB, the next three increase your MPG by 1 hour, regardless of assigned or picked up.
3-C-1-b(1)-(b)
Assigned after 5: After 5 unused SC/FSB that were assigned by the crew desk, each subsequent one assigned that goes unused increases MPG by an hour.
So if you pick up 10 SC and they all go unused, your MPG goes up by 3. (3 out of first 5)
If desk assigns you 10, you get 3 (3 out of first 5) plus another 5 (assigned after 5) for 8 total.
Also be aware that the definition of a used shortcall is a trip that departs within 13 hours of the assignment being made (put in your schedule). They have a nasty habit of putting it in there 13+ while you're in crew rest and notifying you at the start of your RAP, which is not the intent of SC. PDR that with CCS alerting message times for credit.

I haven't dealt with SC for a while, but am on reserve this month. I have had 3 unused SCs - two assigned and one APU. I can't get more than 1 more SC this month due to my schedule.
Right now, Crew Companion shows one extra hour on my pay for an unused SC.

Thanks for that clarification; that's the way I read it ... doesn't matter what method was used for acquiring the first 5 SCs as long as you don't exceed 5 SCs in a month.

On the Crew Companion calendar, I've got 74 hrs and there's a line that states: Unused SC/FSB [?] 1:00
When I hover the mouse over that line, it shows the days of each SC and whether it was assigned or picked up.

I found it on Crew Companion. I didn't bother looking anywhere else since Crew Companion pulls the data from United.

Unused SC will not appear in your MPG until the 9th of the following month when payroll closes out the prior month. Crew Companion makes the adjustment in real time.
