So what are you saying? That IAH-SYD will not be FRMS? If you read what I wrote do you see any other way to staff that flight?

When you posted that IAH 787 was either already dead or on life support so hardly a bold call. Spotting off that you know that CLE, GUM, and IAH 777 are dead based on 'little birds' in Willis hasn't proven anywhere near true.

I said two years didn't I? I don't know anyone at Willis. But the various reps I've had over the years do.

I'm on record here saying that the IAH 787 base was a waste and should have never been. With the addition of this flight the base makes perfect sense and I'm happy for the IAH pilots and the growth this will cause.

You thought the base was a waste before but makes perfect sense with the possible addition of one SYD flight?

This flight will be almost impossible to staff because of FAR117 implications. Your home acclimatized base pretty much has to be IAH because of the duty day. DH in won't do much for the acclimatization. As previously mentioned, you'll have to have reserves to cover this as well.
This is a major domicile. I don't see any kind of TDY or mini equipment base ever being approved by ALPA.
It will be interesting to see how manpower responds. Of course there is always a chance this is all posturing and won't ever actually happen. Still has to be approved. Then UAL could say we tried and get a few owed brownie points politically.
