Failed 787 Tire
Manufacturer Michelin examined the failed tyre, and concluded that the tread had been undercut due to the aircraft mostly operating on grooved runways.
Following the incident, Jetstar issued notices to engineers and pilots highlighting the need to pay close attention to the shoulder areas of the tyres during preflight inspections to help identify any excessive wear.

Interesting statement from the tire manufacturer. Makes sense though, if you drag rubber over a cheese grater it may fail in unexpected ways. UAL's 787 fleet operates off of grooved runways, be careful out there.

Don't all of our aircraft operate on grooved runways....
Seems like they are looking for a way out on a crappy tire.
Not going to look up to actual numbers but I would venture a guess that the weight in lbs on each main gear tire is not the highest on the 787. Probably much more weight per tire on the 777 and 747....although the super guppy probably had them all maxed out!
