Ah, the Children of the Magenta Line.......
No one fits that description here in the last several years, but I've flown with a few 90's hire pilots that do!

"It's quieter than the 727!"

Of course it also has nothing to do with the 727 being loud enough it destroyed your hearing so the 73 seems quieter. I'm not interested in having hearing like these crotchety old men I fly with.

You are well on your way to becoming one of them.

That's funny! There were very few RJ's around in the early 90's. Getting hired at a regional with 200 hours was primarily a mid to late 2000's thing.

Perfect.

A buddy of mine was a new hire at TWA in 1985. Though he was taken aback by the attitudes of the senior guys during Icahn's rule, he understands now!

And learning from history includes not doing the things that would cause me to wear aids at 50. But who am I to tell someone else what they should and shouldn't do to their body?

You're correct. But I was responding to Probe's claim of all these pilots supposedly getting hired at United after 3 years at the regionals in their twenties. Have you seen the makeup of a new hire class in the last few years? No freaking way. Not even close.

I understand that you are returning fire but that does not validate your comment. The low time guys in 90's tended to be fighter guys with 2500 hours or so. In my class about half military and half civilian there were five of us coming from other majors. The class average was way above 5,000 hours TT and lots of heavy international jet experience.
