Jetblue-United Merger

There are plenty of awesome folks at JB and you are correct, UAL would be fortunate to have them aboard. However, it's the rest that make the "JB culture" different, and not in a good way, than pretty much every other airline out there.

That would certainly be my first choice.
But it would also appear that **something** is up with the backtracking of the fleet plan and the recent revisions to pilot hiring that appear contrary to stated staffing requirements.
IMHO, the information vacuum combined with radically revised plans has only stoked the rumor mills. In my tenure more than one major corporate strategy shift was first signaled by such actions only to become official much later.

Scott Kirby's expansion of United Express Flying through regional partners to make its domestic route structure more profitable is probably the most likely scenario...

Hey, you are the one who asked the question about culture.
There are plenty of awesome folks at JB and you are correct, UAL would be fortunate to have them aboard. However, it's the rest that make the "JB culture" different, and not in a good way, than pretty much every other airline out there.

You have ZERO idea about the general culture at Jetblue and your comments just reiterate that fact to me.
You want to talk why Spirit would be better than Jetblue?
Airframes.
Orders.
Real Estate.
Synergistic effect of what combining the 2 airlines would mean.
Those are legitimate factors that are worthy of discussion.
Culture? Joke.

How long ago? Things are/have changing/changed. Rapidly. Again, lots of good reasons to debate one vs the other. "Culture" of a pilot group is not one of them. Lots of great people here. Don't disrespect them because you were disgruntled while you were here.

(Note that I have precisely zero posts over in the JB sub-forum. If my intent was to go p*ss in other's cornflakes that's where I'd start. I haven't.)

I'm pretty sure my knowledge of this pilot group is much more up to date and accurate than yours. And whether you want to admit it or not, your opinion of the JB pilot "culture" will be biased based on your experiences...one of the reasons I'm sure you chose to leave.
