Second day Veteran Event guy here. I was given a CJO in March and just missed the last training class in May....swam in the pool as long as I could stand it...then accepted a job with Delta. I highly doubt there are many left in the hiring pool. Ironically, I received an email yesterday from United telling me to expect a late Nov training class.....sorry United, like many others in the pool, I have moved on to a company that gives me more confidence they know how to plan for the future...best of luck to all of you.
So yes, I think you are correct....I think he will look nice.

Hope you're not still in the Guard or Reseves. Delta has two USERRA lawsuits pending. Had a newhire in the jumpseat a few days ago who actually left Delta (and lived in base) to commute to work at United. Said he couldn't believe how poorly Delta treats their people and how amazing it's been at UAL. Good luck to you.

An 8 month wait for a class date ... at a LEGACY ... oh the humanity! For the record Delta had a 7+ month wait for class dates up until Spring 2016. I understand the new airline kool aid hasn't worn off but the quicker you realize ANY airline will treat you like a number if it makes financial sense the happier you will be. You are at a legacy... smile.

If he only wants to do domestic the rest of his career, its a good place to be. Obviously people come to United for the International flying and better QOL with the pay and schedules that provides. Delta has a lot of foreign airlines doing their International flying, but if you're good with the up and down and a mostly narrowbody career Delta is a fine airline. Give the guy a break. Not everyone wants to fly international.

DWC10 is a good example of having class.

Not exactly sure what I did/post to deserve the compliment, but it’s appreciated.
I was impressed with UAL during my trip out to Denver and during the interview process, and was looking forward to lots of international WB flying.
I do understand the industry has its ups and downs and right now Delta is on the hiring high and United is at a low point. As people have said, it was opposite not even two years ago.
In the end, I can’t pass up seniority and a pay check to keep food on the table and a roof over the nugget....happy wife happy life.
Best of luck to all the poolies....hope the class date comes sooner rather than later!

Why would you take his comments personally?? He's obviously happy with his decision. Be happy for him. He had two good choices and one of those choices picked him for a class date first.
