I flew with one gem a couple weeks ago who would turn off all automation at TOD (Autopilot, thrust, and FD) and proceed to S-turn down the arrival using only the ND display zoomed all the way in to navigate. I reminded him that the flight directors are required to be on for RNAV arrivals. His response was a grunt, more S turns, and being high at HULLS in ORD by 1500', despite my best efforts. Three FSAPs in one trip, a personal best.
Another thing that everyone should start doing is calling for gear down and flaps while the other person is checking in with tower, or getting the response.
"Tower, United 123 at *GEAR DOWN FLAPS 3*..."

Yeah this was a fun pairing...

Had another guy who would start the APU on final... even at SFO... I've never had more than a few moments waiting for power at SFO. I think some guys are just so disgruntled they go out their way to not do what the company wants. Just because.
And then there is the "I always add fuel." guy. Seriously? Always? No matter what?

Yep, talked to a couple LCAs about him. Supposed to be a "normal" start. I don't understand guys with ridiculous quirks like that. Why?

There was a capt on the 'bus who, with more than a little flourish, always put his hand at the bottom of the thrust levers from about 5000 agl all the way to touchdown

Enter a reroute, get a momentary discontinuity on top, CWS takes over, PM yells "autopilot's off!" and starts smashing buttons on the MCP.

While you've only had to wait a few moments for ground power, I found myself having to start the apu at the gate because it wasn't connected in a reasonable amount of time. All the while our first class passengers are deplaning and being serenaded by an idle thrust engine. An engine running on the ground with ramp workers all about.
San Fran can get warm and I hate passing a warm jet to the next crew. I've noticed numerous times where ramp plugged in power but not air.
Disgruntled pilots? I guess it's easier to make your point when you bash the guy without having walked in his shoes.
