Flip-side; equally egregious:
Push early/on-time, get a couple of shortcuts.
Inexplicably changes Cost Index to Buzz Lightyear ("Infinity and Beyond").
Shaves off 3 minutes, at the cost of 3500 lbs of fuel, and Mmo pushing the redline in turbulence.
Wait 25 minutes for a gate......

Not very long. Thirty minutes from blockin, take a taxi. Sometimes, this is even to an airport hotel if (as in IAD) it takes a long time to just get to the curb and the van isn't sitting there when we arrive. I'm doing about one per trip lately, two on my last trip. Maybe it's just the summer.
